Nigeria’s Laskenta connects skilled craftsmen to clients around the world

Nigerian startup Laskenta Technologies is focused on building digital solutions that help businesses and individuals operate more efficiently online, with its flagship solution Workaaholic connecting skilled craftsmen to clients around the world.

Founded in 2024, Laskenta has a host of services, including web and software development, digital tools, and business automation solutions designed to support startups and small businesses.

Its flagship product, currently in development is Workaaholic, a global client and craftsmen platform that connects skilled craftsmen to clients around the world.

“The platform is currently about 80 percent complete and will soon be ready for full public deployment. Workaaholic is designed to help skilled professionals showcase their work, find clients internationally, and grow sustainable income through digital access,” founder and CEO Nnaemeka Ugwumba said.

The startup was formed to address the growing need for practical and affordable technology solutions for African businesses and skilled professionals, starting as a small team of developers and digital professionals who saw how many talented people lacked access to the global digital economy.

“Today, the team consists of software developers, designers, product managers, and digital strategists working together to build scalable solutions that empower businesses and individuals,” Ugwumba said.

“We noticed two major gaps. First, many small businesses struggle to access affordable digital tools that can help them scale. Second, skilled craftsmen often rely on local markets and word of mouth, limiting their income and opportunities.”

Workaaholic aims to bridge this gap by creating a platform where craftsmen can connect directly with clients globally.

“While there are freelance and marketplace platforms internationally, there is still a major opportunity to build a platform tailored to skilled trades and emerging markets,” said Ugwumba.

Laskenta has been primarily self-funded and bootstrapped by its founder.

“This approach has allowed us to grow sustainably and focus on building real value before seeking external investment,” said Ugwumba.

“A major milestone for us is the near completion of Workaaholic, which represents a significant step toward expanding our product ecosystem.”

Laskenta has worked with various businesses and individuals who needed digital solutions, and has found the response has been “encouraging”.

“Early interest in Workaaholic has also been strong, with craftsmen and potential users expressing enthusiasm about a platform focused on connecting skills to global opportunities” Ugwumba said.

“Our long term vision is global, especially with the launch of Workaaholic, which is being designed for worldwide use from day one.”
