Nigerian startup Siiqo has launched a commerce and business suite for African SMEs and freelancers, helping users increase their sales and better manage their businesses.
Founded by Okerere Innocent Chinweokwu and Linda Kolapa Ogochukwu, Siiqo aims to help users build brands by creating online storefronts and portfolios, and getting discovered by a wider audience. It also allows them to get paid, via fiat or crypto, and manage business operations efficiently and effectively.
“Siiqo provides visibility and trust,” Chinweokwu said. “Most importantly we are allowing users to build real identity with ease.”
The bootstrapped startup is at the MVP stage, but has already acquired 50 users. “We have started improving the product before going public again,” Chinweokwu said.
Siiqo will monetise from transaction fees and subscription.
“When freelancers and SMEs do transactions on their storefront, Siiqo charges a fee for escrow and mediation,” said Chinweokwu.
